Digital marketing agency in Madrid that takes ownership of growth

SEO, advertising, analytics, content and conversion under a single approach, instead of five suppliers each optimising their own metric. In Madrid since 2012, with 131 clients behind us and a habit of showing you the full numbers.

What exactly does a digital marketing agency do?

It coordinates a company’s digital channels so they all pull in the same direction: acquisition, content, advertising, web and measurement.

Let me explain. The difference between an agency and a standalone supplier isn’t how many services it offers, but whether someone is looking at the whole picture. I’ve seen companies with an SEO on one side, an advertising agency on another and a designer doing their own thing, each optimising their own metric without anyone watching the one that matters to the business. The SEO was driving traffic that didn’t buy, the ads were bringing clicks the website couldn’t convert, and the designer rebuilt the homepage without telling either of them.

That’s why the first thing we decide isn’t what to do, but what comes first and what is better left to wait. Not every business needs the same things, or in the same order.

In some, the measurement needs fixing before spending another penny. In others, organic work will take too long and you need to keep the cash flowing with paid campaigns while it matures. And in some, frankly, the problem isn’t marketing but the offer or the price, and we tell you that too.

Clearly, working this way means saying no to things we could bill for. We think that’s a reasonable price.

The customer journey, which is where the money gets lost

The customer journey is the path from the moment someone doesn’t know you to the moment they recommend you. And it almost always breaks in the same place: nobody takes charge of the middle stretch.

Here’s a quick exercise. Mentally split your current investment across these five stages. In most of the businesses we audit, virtually the entire budget sits in the first two, and retention has no owner.

1
Discovery

They don’t know you yet. This is where organic search, content and top-of-funnel advertising do their work. It’s the most expensive stage to buy and the cheapest to win over time.

2
Consideration

They already know you and are comparing you. The decision is made on your website: what you explain, what proof you offer and how much friction you create. This is where most projects fall apart without anyone measuring it.

3
Purchase

The moment they decide. It depends less on marketing and more on the process not getting in the way: forms, loading times, clear prices and trust.

4
Retention

The stage almost nobody buys and the one that leaves the most margin. A repeat customer never costs again what it cost to win them.

5
Referral

When a customer brings you another customer. You can’t buy it: you earn it, and it’s the only channel that improves on its own over time.

How do we work at AMDT?

In a fixed order: measure first, then decide, then execute and measure again. It sounds obvious, and almost nobody sticks to it.

The first step is always the diagnosis, because without reliable data any decision that follows is a gamble. We ourselves discovered in an internal audit that our Analytics was counting one session on a day when another tool was counting seventy. If it happened to us, and this is what we do for a living, it’s worth checking yours before moving a single penny of budget.

If it happened to us, and this is what we do for a living, it’s worth checking yours before moving a single penny of budget.

Once the data is reliable, we prioritise by impact and effort, not by what we feel like doing. From there comes a plan with an order, an owner and a deadline, and a monthly report that says what worked, what didn’t, and which part of the result is down to the work and which to the market.

If something didn’t work, it appears in the report. It’s the only way a report can help you decide anything. It’s in line with our commitment to ethical SEO.

Even More Difficult

What do you gain by bringing everything under one agency?

Essentially, you stop paying the coordination cost, which is invisible on the invoices but shows in the results. These are the effects we see when channels stop going it alone:

Less risk. We measure before investing, so spend that can’t be justified never happens.

Faster decisions. When the same person sees organic, advertising and analytics at once, a diagnosis takes days instead of three meetings and two emails.

Real time savings. One point of contact, one report and no meetings spent getting two suppliers to agree on who deserves the credit.

And a channel that compounds. Organic work and content keep producing in the month you stop paying for advertising. That’s the difference between renting visibility and building it.

Frequently asked questions

In our case: organic search, paid advertising, analytics and measurement, content, conversion and web development. And above all that, the part that isn’t billed by the hour but is what decides the outcome: what gets done first and what doesn’t get done.

Each service has its own page if you want the detail: SEO consultancy, SEO audit, local SEO, SEO migration, Google Ads, digital analytics, content marketing, conversion optimisation, web design, AI search engine optimisation and marketing automation.

Yes. We’ve been in Madrid since 2012 and work in person when the project calls for it: kick-offs, sessions with management, training for the in-house team.

That said, we’re not going to sell you proximity as a technical argument. A good number of our clients are outside Madrid, and some outside Spain. If your business is local and needs to appear on the map, that’s local SEO, and it’s handled separately.

It depends on the scope, but I’ll give you the reasoning rather than a figure plucked out of thin air.

We work on a monthly fee, not loose hours, because this is a long game, not a one-off job. Before proposing an amount, we do the maths: what demand there is in your sector, how much a customer is worth to your business and what it would cost you to buy that same traffic through advertising. If the numbers say it isn’t worth it, we tell you and there’s no proposal. It has happened.

What we don’t do is charge a percentage of the advertising spend without showing the breakdown of what each part takes.

It depends on the channel, and it’s best not to lump them all into the same promise.

Advertising gives you data in days and sales in weeks. Conversion and analytics, as soon as what’s broken is fixed, which is sometimes a matter of days. Organic plays on a different timescale: three to six months for the first solid signs, and nine to twelve to talk about a real change in the picture.

That’s why a serious agency sets up what generates cash first, and in parallel what builds the future. Being promised that everything will come quickly is the most reliable sign that something doesn’t add up.

They’re used almost as synonyms, but there’s a difference in focus. Growth hacking puts the emphasis on quick, creative experiments to grow with limited resources; growth marketing is a more sustained, long-term view of that same data-driven growth. In practice, a good growth service combines both: the agility of hacking with the consistency of marketing. What matters isn’t the label, but measurable growth.

Not necessarily a person with that job title, but a team that thinks like a growth hacker: one that measures, experiments and optimises non-stop. As a growth agency, at AMDT we bring that growth mindset to your business, with strategy and data leading the way, instead of relying on a single person or magic formulas.
